Today, was the big day. We walked away, thinking this year’s 5k was pretty exciting.
Happy Tears Studios will share their photos in the coming weeks, so check back soon . We would also like to thank our vendors and sponsors which we will update soon on this site.
Some of you have asked about race times, which you can find on Racesplitter.com
What did you think of the route? Was it marked well with pink route arrows and volunteers? We’d like to thank the volunteers at the water stations and the nursing students for cheering the runners and walkers on.
We know now, to post the date and time of registration more often next year on our facebook page, if you can think of anything else we missed…..please let us know under comments. If you absolutely loved the route, vendors/sponsors, start/finish line or anything else, we would love to hear that too.
Thank you again for participating, we were lucky to meet you at registration, yell, shake maracas and talk to most of you and your families. Please share our facebook page with your friends and we hope to see you next year.
Remember to check us out through the year for more information, inspiration and dates for 2014.

What have we learned from our past races? With comments from you and ideas from past runners, we took on this year’s event with a “new and improved” attitude.
The Liquid Gold 5K starts with a few small hills, winding down to a BEAUTIFUL run/walk through the tree lined campus of the University of Nevada Reno. Our Route Makers, spent the weekend, fine tuning and high fiving each other, once they felt comfortable. We even had a few nice people, volunteer to walk the route, without our help….just to see if it was possible without signs and arrows.
The BEST part….we’ll still have signs and arrows marking the way. The route will be highly visible with pink arrows. Check them out at http://www.routearrows.com
The 5K is open to people with strollers too. This might be a good chance for your little ones to see geese, swans, possibly turtles along Manzanita Lake. We promise, there are no stairs involved in the race, so don’t even think about it.
There’s alot more coming our way during Breastfeeding Awareness Week. Stop back, within a few weeks, for a sneak peak of the map. Want to be a part of our great day but not walk or run? Become a volunteer! We’re always looking for people along the way to hold our FABULOUS signs, sing, dance, pass out water or help out at a table.
It’s only 2 months away. Can’t beat the price. Sign up at Active.com
Do you need motivation to run or walk? Look no further! It’s National Run Day, Wednesday June 5th.
National Running Day, held annually on the first Wednesday in June, is a day when runners everywhere declare their passion for running. Wherever we are and whomever we’re with, we run—fast or slow, alone or with others, all over town or just around the block. It is a coast-to-coast celebration of a sport and activity that’s simple, inexpensive, and fun. It’s the perfect way for longtime runners to reaffirm their love of running and for beginners to kick off a lifetime and life-changing commitment.

Getting ready for the Liquid Gold 5k in Reno, nv
Tell us why you like to run or walk.
We checked out the Virginia City Parade today and came across a mom feeding her baby. All day, I had been taken photos of the town’s festivities and then it was as if the sky opened up, the surrounding green outfits disappeared and light surrounded this beautiful mom and baby.
Thank you Robin for making a difference and letting us take your photo! Hope to see you at the Liquid Gold 5k in August!
